Established position from 1º West
Telenor Satellite Broadcasting own and operate THOR 5 and THOR 6, positioned t our prime 1º West orbital location. In addition, we partly own the high-powered Intelsat 10-02 satellite, located at the same position.
Our dedicated space systems division, take responsibility for our satellites from Telenor Satellite Broadcasting's main space control room, located in Oslo, Norway. From pre-design to “shut off”, they control and monitor every single movement to ensure maximum flexibility and longevity of our satellites.
THOR 5 was launched in 2008 , equipped with 24 Ku transponders, offering Nordic , Pan European and Middle East coverage.
THOR 6 was launched in 2009, equipped with 36 Ku transponders targeting the Nordics countries and Central and Eastern Europe.
IS 10-02 was launched in 2004 and Telenor Satellite Broadcastings owns 7 Ku transponders for coverage throughout Europe and the Middle East
